Finding your very first Geocache

The following steps will guide you through finding your first ever geocache, unless you are lucky like we were and stumble upon your first one by accident.

What-is-Geocaching?

#1. Go to the GEOCACHING WEBSITE and make yourself a free account. While you are there, do some reading and learn your way around the website.
#2. Then you will want to download and install the app. You can type in geocaching in your store’s search bar
#3. On your phone, open the app, turn on your location so it knows where you are, then it will show you all the geocaches in your area. Your traditional caches will appear in green.
#4.Check the D/T, hints, pictures and comments from other geocachers that may help you on your way to the cache.
#5. Gear up and set out to find your first geocache. Follow your phone or enter the coördinates on your gps.
#6. The closer your get, the more the meters or feet gets lower on your phone or gps. You can even set up the app to send a notification when you are close to the cache’s hiding spot. Once you get that notification, stop and search around with the clues you know.
#7. Sign the log book, trade items or track your trackables
#8. Repeat steps 4-7

Enjoy and good luck!!!!

Always be careful and most importantly, have fun!!!
