Savory Crock-Pot Chicken

We absolutely love our slow cooker, AKA; crock-pot! It’s such a great appliance to have around especially on days when we don’t feel like slaving over a hot stove. Prepare your favorite dish, set the temperature and forget about it for a bit. Chicken is an easy meat to prepare in the crock-pot and one that we recently used to make a savory crock-pot chicken. We often use a mixture of spices or sauces which vary as can your choices depending on your taste. Below is the most recent recipe that we used and the spice mixture that the Mrs. made. We hope you’ll enjoy.


Crock-Pot Chicken


• 1 whole chicken
• vegetables (garlic, onions, celery & carrots)
• ½ cup water


• ½ tsp. parsley flakes.
• 1 tbsp. garlic powder.
• 1 tbsp celery salt.
• ½ tbsp. summer savory
• 1 tsp. black pepper
• Himalayan pink salt
• ½ tbsp paprika (optional)



Line the bottom of the crock-pot with the celery, carrots, onions, garlic and water. Mix spices together and sprinkle or rub onto the chicken. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours. Once the chicken is done, broil it on high for 3-4 minutes or until the skin is crispy. Be very careful transferring the chicken as it will fall apart as ours did! Remove from the oven and serve.
