It’s hard to believe that it’s the end of April and we still have snow here in the Maritimes. We usually have a few patches here and there but nothing like the banks we have now! While it’s no fun being snowed over it does help with packing down the trails leading back to the sugar camp. We take many walks in the Winter back to the camp and even more in the Spring when it’s maple syrup season.
The little one enjoys helping Papa collect the sap and he feels like a big boy now that he can ride on the sled in the back of the ski-doo. Don’t worry it’s a metal dogsled that holds the buckets of sap, he stands up just as you would on an actual dogsled.
We love getting outdoors as a family outing as we’re getting excercise as well as fresh air. Not to mention that the little one doesn’t pester as much, lol 🙂
It’s also a great way to teach him about nature and investigate our findings. And of course there’s the wildlife we encounter like squirrels, rare birds and adorable bunny rabbits.
