Picture Keeper Review

~~ **Picture Keeper ** ~~

What is the difference between the Picture Keeper and other “Flash drives”

  • First, there is absolutely NO software/hardware to install
  • It Finds your pictures for you and adds them to the Picture Keeper (so there’s no going back and fourth searching for all your pictures)
  • It’s so simple, just plug it in and select Start Backup, it does the rest for you
  • It even excludes multiples of the same picture..
I’m sure most of you have hundreds if not thousands of un-organised digital pictures kicking around on your computer, cds, external drives, etc.. With the Picture Keeper, you can keep all of your photos neatly stored away, ready to use when you need them. They come in a few different sizes, depending on your needs 🙂 And it works on a PC or MAC. We are currently reviewing the 8PK device and this one holds up to 8000 pictures. I was so excited to plug it into my USB port on the computer and get started. Trust me, you do not have to be a computer whiz to figure out the Picture Keeper 🙂

It’s so small and portable, making it just the right size to add to your key chain or some other safer place if you like… 🙂 I just love it, oh and it doesn’t take up a bunch of space like the other similar devices…

This is the safe way to store your personal photos. I never have to worry about keeping pictures on my computer again. I highly recommend the Picture Keeper to you. It’s only $59.99 and you can purchase it here –>>>  Click Here to Order ….. Available in  4, 8 and 16 GB

Review of the #PlasmaCar

If you live in Canada you’ve probably been cooped up most of the Winter, and if you’ve got kids you probably wanted to pull out your hair a few times, lol! We’ve been given the opportunity to review a very fun product that’s not only fun for the kids but the adults as well, up to 220 lbs, that’ll entertain for hours! It’s also a great little work out 😉

This product is known as PlasmaCar and is manufactured by PlaSmart Inc. a Canadian-based distributor of educational toys that are both smart, ingenious in our mind, and simple. Timothy Kimber was the owner of an ecommerce business who was intrigued when he saw children driving an unknown ride-on vehicle that was powered by the kids simply turning the steering wheel. He soon found the maker of this amazing toy and shortly after the company PlasmaCar  was created. They’ve been in business now for roughly two and a half decades and have distributors in over 60 countries on 5 continents. That goes to show how great of a company this is!

These are a few of the many awards this product has received:

  • Seal of Approval – National Parenting Center
  • Seal of Excellence – Creative Child
  • iParenting Media Toy Awards
  • Platinum Award – Oppenheim Toy Portfolio
The Original PlasmaCar has 5 wheels. It’s made from a thick durable plastic and is extremely easy to assemble. I’m sure the little one could put it together it’s that simple! The best part about this car is that the person using it actually has to use move in order for the car to. Perfect way to keep physically active, in shape and have fun doing it. We’ve been driving ours in the house and are really looking forward to the Summer for some outdoor driving. It’s recommended that you use the vehicles on a flat surface and they’re not recommended for wood floors as they can’t get traction. We’re actually thinking about making a cemented “arena” in the backyard to drive around. We’ll see what becomes of it, lol.

If you’re not much into cars PlaSmart also makes a PlasmaBike. These totally cool vehicles are available for roughly $70 and are recommended for children 3+. To find a store near you please visit the store locator. It’s also very easy to assemble. You can read how to HERE. Max speed is (6 mph)

Easy Peasy Patches Review

Easy Peasy Patch

I received these adorable multifunctional patches from a company called Easy Peasy Patches. They are affordable and cute. These patches stick on well and are very durable. There’s no need to Sew or Iron, simply peel the back and stick them on. They are permanent stick-on fabric patches 🙂

 q

The moment we received them my son wanted me to put the “racing flags” patch on his tractor which is an outdoor toy. we’ve had some pretty crazy weather this winter and I am happy to say that this patch is just as stuck on there now as the first day I put it there. I love that you can fix a tear in your clothes with them OR use the patches to personalize anything you can think of 🙂 Want to the know the best thing about this product? Easy Peasy Patches are machine washable and dishwasher safe.

Here is what the company recommends for

FOR BEST RESULTS:

  • Rub with firm pressure around the edge of the Easy Peasy Patch.
  • On wearables, place the item in the dryer for ten minutes on medium heat before wearing.
  • Avoid washing for 24 hours after application.
  • Wash clothing inside out in cold water*.
  • If mending a large hole, choose an Easy Peasy Patch larger than the hole. Loosely sew the hole together. If needed, place a scrap of material behind the hole to prevent the Easy Peasy Patch from sticking to skin.
  • *Some fabric softeners and detergents may interfere with adhesion.  We suggest using Tide, Sunlight or Woolite

Powerocks Magic Cube 6000 Review

We live in a World where electronics are almost a necessity and there’s nothing worse than knowing that your half-charged device will eventually die, most likely when you really need it the most! There’s been many times that we’ve needed pictures or a post we wrote only to find that our batteries are on the verge of dying and there’s no way to charge it. Thanks to Powerocks portable chargers we no longer have to worry about that. This amazing company has created a line of portable chargers that are able to charge mobile devices of all sorts. E-readers, tablets, mobile phones, GPS’ and more! These chargers range from $49.99 to $109.99 (CDN) depending on the charging power.

IMG_20140319_093840_resized
We were sent the Magic Cube 6000 which is compatible with iphones, ipads, Samsung Galaxy phones, GoPro cameras and much more. This ChargePack has 6000 mAh with a 5 volt power output, meaning that it has enough power when fully charged to charge an iphone battery three times to full capacity. Seriously cool!
We really like the fact that there’s a “Female” port as some electronics may need their original USB cord to charge, as well as their being a micro USB for the smaller electronics. There’s also a “Male” port which is used for charging the Magic Cube. This took us a bit to realize as we were thinking it was for charging larger electronics, lol! We also really like the fact that the charger is no bigger than a cell phone, fitting into the palm of our hand.

19 March, 2014 92502 PM ADT_resized

This particular charger sells for $74.99, which we think is a great price considering what it does. Within 20 minutes of charging our e-reader we saw a 12% increase in power!

Three simple steps make this product easy for anyone to use.

  • Charge your Powerocks
  • Bring your charger & USB cable
  • Never worry about a dead battery again!

Not that this product isn’t awesome on its own but to make it even more awesome, it’s an official PowerPlay partner of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL)! Yay for Canadian Hockey 🙂 Whether you travel for sports tournaments or just want to have that peace of mind knowing you won’t be in the middle of nowhere with a dead battery, these products will amaze you!

Our Son’s 4th Birthday Party #BirthdayParty

IMG_20140310_092008_resized

We recently celebrated the Milestone of our little guy turning 4 and becoming an even bigger boy than before 🙂 Celebration is a great reason to make food which is totally cheaper than ordering in or going out and it’s fun! We served ham sandwiches, all natural hot dogs, chips, veggies and fruit. Total party food, lol!

IMG_20140308_010418_resized

Instead of games we decided to do crafts as the little one likes being creative 🙂 Name necklaces with letter beads was the first craft we made. This was Nanny’s idea not Mommy and Daddy’s but the kid’s really enjoyed making them none the less.

IMG_20140308_125845_resized

The second craft we made was a 3 in 1 that included an Easter basket, egg picture frame and an adorable bunny which the little one says looks best upside down. So he’s upside down on the fridge, lol!

We’re always looking for inexpensive entertainment for kids that we can also do at birthday parties. Pinterest is a go-to for some of our ideas and others are actually our brains working, lol! Do you have any awesome “cheap” ideas for entertaining kids? Indoor activities, outdoor activities and any age, we’d love to hear them 🙂

St-Patrick’s Day Fun #StPatricksDay #PlayDoh

St-Patrick’s Day Fun

Well today is very cold and windy so we had to stay entertained inside and I am happy to say that our friends at Play-doh have helped with the boredom 🙂 Seeing as it’s St-Patrick’s Day as well, I thought I would do a little nail art with some play dough seeing as we were not able to make my son anything green for today as we lack some food coloring :S (horrible I know lol)….

Now those who know me, know that I chew my nails and that they are very short!!  (I know, very nasty habit) but aren’t these kinda cute??

I decided to make myself some St-Patty’s Day Nails~~~

**What do you guys think? lol (please don’t be too harsh 😉

Disclosure**This post was in no way sponsored by play-doh, we just chose to mention them and give them credit.

You can see the art work, quality and time invested in this very box 🙂 Trust me that Newfoundland Chocolates will Not let you down ! (let’s put it this way, I am not a big fan of dark chocolate but I ate the ones in this box and they were….wait for it…. DELICIOUS!!!)

This box is called the  Jigs n Reels Series: Assortment collection of chocolate. I was very impressed!

The next products that we got to review were these delicious chocolate bars.. I mean, who doesn’t love a good chocolate bar? 🙂 I got to review the following flavors:

  •  Extra Smooth Bar – This is the milk chocolate goodness that I love from a plain candy bar!!! And just like the name says, it’s smooth!!! I love it. Contains 34% cocoa
  • Hazlenut Bar – This one contains a creamy milk chocolate with chopped hazlenuts = yummy. You can’t go wrong when you put nuts in chocolate. It also contains 34% cocoa.

  • Wildberry Bar – This one has a rich milk chocolate with an array of whole Newfoundland Wildberries. I love that they even use berries, Yummy. It Contains 42% cocoa. I guess this is the most popular bar of the bunch!!! And I can see why.. It’s sweet and delicious.. Can we say that it’s healthy because of the berries? 😛

Each Bar is $4 but you can get an Online Discount by Purchasing 5 or more bars for $3.40 each

The box of Jigs N Reels is $12 which is an amazing price for the quality you are getting!! (Prices May Vary)

Over all I am SUPER impressed and definitely am making it a must-stop place on my travels!! If you live or plan on visiting Newfoundland, I URGE you to stop by to say Hello and grab yourself a treat. They would LOVE to have you there 😀

2014 Sno-Fest (NB) #WinterFun

One of the things that we like about this time of year is of course Roll Up The Rim at Tim Hortons and the fun Winter celebrations that they have in New Brunswick which is a hop, skip and a jump away from us. This celebration is known as Sno-Fest and is also celebrated in other parts of Canada.

IMG_20140222_113651

It’s a wonderful event when the locals enjoy festivities that celebrate Winter and the fun activities of the season. They have everything you can imagine, from horse drawn sleigh rides to dog sledding and numerous other snowy activities like sliding down a designated snow blown mountain, snowmobiling and ice sculpting. We didn’t hit the outdoor activities as it wasn’t something we planned for. Instead we enjoyed watching the little ones have their faces painted and make crafts. The lovely folks from Sobeys were there to decorate cookies with the kids as well as supplying hot chocolate for the little ones and pop for the adults. We love that our local Sobeys supports all the family events in our area as we’ve come to know the staff by name and because they’re so friendly and awesome 🙂

IMG_20140223_120647

Our little guy also got the cutest “monkey hanging from a palm tree” balloon animal from the very creative clown who was there. This made for a wonderfully entertaining Saturday afternoon which ended with a walk in the woods in search of bunnies. To end the day perfectly we packed the kids back into the car, stopped by Tims for hot drinks and parked by the riverside for a firework show.

Despite my dislike of the cold, these types of activities make it more enjoyable, are a great way to spend quality time with the family and are completely free, minus the gas and coffee 😉

*Ps, the wife lost her cell phone that same day and there was pictures of the kids with their balloons and faces all painted but unfortunately she didn’t get them on the computer before loosing the cell :S

**Does your community do anything to help sway those Winter blues?

Pinata Review from Birthday In A Box

We received this awesome piñata to review from a company called Birthday In A Box for my son’s 4th birthday. This is a simple, multifunctional piñata that can be used with whatever theme you are going with really but we are reviewing the Super Mario Bros one and I must say that it was a hit with the young kids. They were so excited and couldn’t wait to let the candy fall. I love how it brought back memories from when I was younger and playing the game 🙂

You can do it 2 ways, first by pulling the strings that are attached to the bottom of the piñata OR you could get a stick and let the kids work a little for their candy 😀 We chose the string method as we thought it would be safer for the kids and the house 😉 hehe. We also added a little more candy to it just because of the amount of kids and how small they are were. The candy that comes with it is more suitable for kids 7-8ish and older. Mine were aged 1-5 but they all still very much enjoyed it.

    • Kit Includes:
    • 1 Super Mario Bros Mylar 18″ Balloon
    • 1 Pull String Blank Pinata
    • 1 Bag Pinata Filler
    • 1 Pinata Blindfold
You blow up the balloon then add it on the piñata 🙂 it’s so simple. And being as busy as I was this kit sure did come in handy!

Like this Pinata??? This kit can be purchased HERE

Review for KidKraft – My Lil’ Doll Cradle w Pink Bedding

My Lil’ Doll Cradle w Pink Bedding

We received this adorable cradle for dolls to review, made by a company called KidKraft. It was very easy to put together and the only tool needed by me was a star screw driver. It’s the perfect size for little kids and not too bulky to store away when not in use. My niece is 5 and just loves this. She asks someone every night to bring it up to her room so she can rock her babies to sleep.

It’s neatly packed 🙂

Its light-weight and comes with a cradle mattress, a pillow and a blanket to keep the dolls warm when they sleep :). Your little one will love this. It rocks perfectly without tipping over. It was also very easy to put this together. It only took me about 10 minutes to get it all set up.

It’s made with wood and is very excellent quality. Made using a heirloom-inspired design. The KidKraft cradle can be purchased for approx. $40. Suitable for ages 3 years and up. Highly recommended 🙂

Just’a Drop #Review

Have you ever had relatives over that use the bathroom and then warn everyone not to go in? Talk about embarrassing! Despite the embarrassment, we all know that no one smells like roses! Thanks to Just A Drop there’s no need to worry about those embarrassing bathroom odors anymore. With just a drop, hence the name, this amazing product eliminates those raunchy smells by using a combination of plant extracts. This creates a barrier over the water which keeps the smell from being released. All you have to do is squeeze a drop or two into the toilet before use and there’s no odor, period! You can also put a drop into the toilet before leaving to have a fresh smelling bathroom which is something we’ve gotten accustomed to doing 🙂 There are many amazing scents available such as floral, citrus and after rain. With a wide array of products like the drops mentioned above, a toilet bowl cleaner, hanging tablets a NEW toilet spray and even products that are safe for Ostomy pouches.

 ss

We really, really like that these products are environmentally friendly as well as being septic friendly as we own a septic tank and because we care for our environment! We also really like the fact that the bottles of Just A Drop are small enough to fit in the pocket of your jeans being no bigger than a set of keys, possibly even smaller. We suggest you pick some up the next time you’re out shopping as their products are available at most grocery stores and pharmacies in Canada. Seriously though, you’ll save a ton on air fresheners 🙂

Tu-Bees Honey Review

Honey is truly one of natures sweetest gifts and Tu-Bees has found a way to make it taste even better! This amazing company was the inspiration of a 12-year-old entrepreneur from Saskatchewan, Canada and has been featured on CTV News, CBC News and many more media and radio channels across Canada. Their honey products are manufactured in a dedicated gluten-free facility. The flavoring they use is 100% natural, Gluten-Free, Nut-Free and Dairy-free, using natural flavors such as Maple, Lemon, Cinnamon, Black Cherry and Saskatoon Berries to add a delicious twist to a breakfast favorite that the whole family will love!

We honestly don’t eat much honey here but we do use it in recipes, when someone is sick and sometimes a burnt toast with honey can’t be passed up, lol! We were very excited to try these tasty looking mixtures and were shocked at how great they made the honey taste without overpowering our taste buds. We think these would be a perfect addition to a home-made icing mixture, any dessert and of course toast 🙂 We really like the fact that Tu-Bees come in either glass jars or in tubes which are BPA Free and Phthalates Free including the caps. As well as the fact that this company and it’s products are 100% Canadian!

Natrel’s Maple Milk Review

Going to the Sugar Camp has been something we’ve done since the little one was born. It’s a Winter Wonderland with the huge snow-covered pine trees swaying overhead everywhere you look and little, some not so much, bunny prints scattered underfoot. It’s also very exciting helping and learning how maple syrup is produced. Being Canadian, maple anything will do 🙂

Natrel_AROMATISES_1L_3D__fevrier_erable1

We were very excited to find out that Natrel has a *NEW product called “Maple Milk”. This is a delicious dessert type milk that made the tastiest smoothie additive and was also very good when replacing milk in a recipe. We used it to replace the milk in a gluten-free pancake recipe and they turned out perfect with a delicious maple flavor to them. This milk is naturally gluten-free, made with natural maple flavor, has 1% MF (MilkFat), contains no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives and is Dairy cooperative owned by Canadian Dairy Farmers. You can find Maple Milk in most grocery stores throughout Ontario and Quebec.

Lavazza Coffee Review. I #GotItFree from #BzzAgent

#GotItFree #BzzAgent #Freebies

We love our caffeine and have tried many different kinds. Some were very favourable and could replace our regularly used java. Then there are those that taste very strong and have a horrible smell when being brewed.

We were recently given the opportunity to try a delicious NEW line of ground drip coffee from a company based in Italy that has been perfecting coffee since 1895 and is known as Italy’s favorite coffee. With 109 years of coffee blending skills it no wonder it’s so tasty! This amazing coffee I speak of is known as Lavazza. The first delicious blend we tried was the Gran Aroma which is a medium roast and is quite pleasant smelling with a fresh mild flavor.

The second blend we were sent was Gran Selezione. This one is a medium-dark roast, not the darkest but second in line. I’ve always loved the smell of fresh brewed coffee and this one has that delicious aroma that makes you want to float along with the smell like they do on TV, “Scooby Doo” comes to mind! We like that it’s strong but not overly strong, a great coffee to wake up to. We also really like that Lavazza products are Rain Forest Alliance Certified 🙂

We absolutely loved this brand of coffee and look forward to trying other blends by Lavazza. We are already looking for it in stores for our next grocery trip 🙂 We recommend that you try it for yourself or even purchase it as a gift for a coffee lover you know, They’ll love you for it!
