Hushpuppies Brand – Women’s Ceil Slip On Review

Hushpuppies Brand – Women’s Ceil Slip On

Did you know: Hushpuppies have been featured in the Oprah magazine?

I had the opportunity to review these great from an awesome company called ” Hushpuppies“. First thing I want to tell you about these “loafers” are they are super comfy, one of the most comfortable things I’ve put on my feet in a long while. I chose the Cheetah print for my order but you can choose from about 18 different colours. You can find these loafers for approx $80 which is a great price for such quality. Your feet will thank you

These would be great to wear outside in the summer but with 7-8 foot snow banks out there right now its best to use them as a slipper in the house for now 🙂 ( which is equally comfy).

On the hushpuppies site you can shop for men, women and even kids footwear. There is truly something for the whole family. I love them because they are durable, soft, breathable, comfortable, stylish, light-weight AND flexible. What’s not to love? You should try them for yourselves because the comfort that comes come these slip-ons are like no other. Did I mention they are a quiet shoe? I like them better than walking around barefoot.

45

I think they look even cuter when you add feet in the shoes because pictures just don’t do justice. It’s the perfect footwear to pair with skinny jeans, leggings or whatever your style is. I would definitely recommend them 🙂

Disclosure: I received product(s) for free in exchange for an honest review, which may differ from yours. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I used personally, and believe will be good for my readers.

Gluten Free Molasses Pancakes

Gluten Free Molasses Pancakes

This delicious pancake recipe is very easy to make and makes an easy breakfast when you freeze them. The recipe below has been doctored to meet my Gluten Free needs as well as taste. You can honestly add anything you’d like to them, from chocolate chips to pieces of fruit. *Below the gluten free recipe you’ll find the original pancake recipe 🙂

Gluten-Free-Molasses-Pancakes

Gluten Free Molasses Pancakes

2 cups Bobs Red Mill all purpose flour (slightly more if too runny)

1/8 tsp. xanthan gum

2 tsp baking powder

2 tbsp. sugar (optional)

2 tsp. cinnamon

3/4 tsp. salt

1.5 cups milk

2-3 tbsp. molasses

1 egg

2-3 tbsp. oil

Sift & mix dry ingredients. In a separate bowl combine liquid/wet ingredients. Wisk wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. I don’t usually add butter because of the oil in the recipe but you can butter your frying pan if you like, cook over medium-low heat. Makes 6 large or 12 small pancakes.

Regular Recipe

1 1/4 – 1.5  cups flour

2 tsp. baking powder

tbsp. sugar (optional)

3/4 tsp. salt

1.5 cups milk

1 egg

2-3 tbsp. oil

Clean ones

Cleaning…. It’s one of those things that no one really want to do but it has to be done! Thanks to Clean Ones “Pure Comfort Gloves” I no longer have to worry about the way my hands smell after using bleach and other cleaners, that leave behind a nasty smell. I also don’t have to worry about touching anything like the toilet bowl or having water and cleaner splash up onto my arms. These gloves are Latex Free, 100% Phthalate Free & BPA Free and Dermatologist recommended antimicrobial protection to keep the inside from smelling. They’re great for cleaning, washing dishes, cleaning the cat litter, gardening and many other tasks that involve getting your hands dirty.

Clean-ones

Another great glove that Clean Ones makes is the “Active Grip Multipurpose Gloves”. These gloves are made with a nylon material with textured natural latex coating and are 100% BPA free. I really like how comfortable these are and how they have a breathable mesh so your hands don’t sweat 🙂 The no slip grip is a great help when it comes to gripping tools, after all no one wants to accidentally throw a hammer through a window!

Clean-ones

I’ve been using both pairs of gloves for a month or more and am surprised that they’re still in one piece, as most gloves I use to clean tend to tear easily. We’re very impressed with the products from Clean Ones and hope you’ll be just as impressed as we are 🙂

Epuffer – Magnum Rev 3 “Snaps” Rechargeable E-Pack Review

It’s a New Year, which means new opportunities, new products and a new way of life, for some people any ways. For me it’s an opportunity to try to quit smoking for the 1500th time! You might remember a recent review I wrote about eco-friendly ecigs by ePuffers.com ( Check out the review ). They’ve got another awesome product set to release January, 23 /2014, the Magnum Rev 3 “Snaps” Rechargeable E-Pack.

Epuffer-Magnum-Rev-3-"Snaps"-Rechargeable-E-Pack-Review

This product is absolutely amazing, as it’s literally a “snap” to put together with both the cartridge or cartomizer and the battery being magnetic. This ePack comes with very cool features which allow you to store an extra cartomizer, which contains 30 cigarettes or 500 puffs, a fully assembled ePuffer and has a charging dock for your e-cig. There’s also a battery level indicator and a bright LED light that has 5 hours of power on a fully charged pack, how seriously cool is that!
Epuffer-Magnum-Rev-3-"Snaps"-Rechargeable-E-Pack-Review
From the black and gold color to the slim cell phone like size, I absolutely love the ePuffer Magnum Snaps ePack and highly recommend it! For more information or to make a purchase of this product for the great price of $79.00 USD, please visit: HERE

Epuffer-Magnum-Rev-3-"Snaps"-Rechargeable-E-Pack-Review

ePuffer has many different flavors of cartomizers, some nicotine free and some not. I like menthol and was sent the 0.6 mg cartomizers and I’m amazed at how great they are! You can purchase packs of 5 cartomizers for $12.95 the equivalent of 150 cigarettes which at $10/pk, here any ways, would cost $60. Definitely a money-saving product 🙂

*Ingredients in the nicotine free cartomizer are: Vegetable Glycerol,  Distilled Water and aroma.
*ePuffers are not intended for anyone under the age of 18 or 21 depending on your provincial/state law. This product has not been tested for its effectiveness in quitting smoking*

Earth Berries Ltd. “Soap Nuts” Review

Earth Berries Ltd. “Soap Nuts” Review

Earth-Berries-Ltd.-"Soap-Nuts"-Review

I’ve never really been the type to worry about the impact that the products I buy, had on the environment but over the past few years I’ve come to realize that it DOES make an impact and a HUGE one at that. Take the crazy weather we’ve been having for example! Earth Berries Ltd’s “Soap Nuts” are an all natural product that comes from the environment so it’s kind of a given that it is perfectly harmless to it! Not only is this product harmless to the Earth it’s also hypoallergenic so people with skin sensitivities can use it & despite the name “soap nut” it’s actually a berry, so it’s safe for people with nut allergies too 🙂

Earth-Berries-Ltd.-"Soap-Nuts"-Review

I honestly thought the little amount was only enough for one load of clothes but your actually able to re-use the soap nuts until they become flimsy and transparent, making them good for approximately 10 loads (sample size). The best part about that is that you can boil the nuts to make a liquid soap instead of using the sac that is included if you’d prefer. Another great thing about these is that they go from the wash to the dryer and work as a static reducer! A little tip: if you use cold water to wash your clothes you have to soak the bag (with the nuts inside) in a warm glass of water to activate them. Before you throw it in the wash you can use the soap nuts to pre-treat stains by simply rubbing the the bag on the stain so it becomes sudsy!

Earth-Berries-Ltd.-"Soap-Nuts"-Review

Did I mention they make your clothes smell like they were hung outside? Well they do and it turns out they’re compost-able after they’ve run out of washing use, another way they are harmless to the Environment 🙂 These soap nuts don’t exactly smell like roses or Gain if you will, but rest assured your clothes WILL NOT smell like the berries and that they will be free of any chemicals that may be present in other detergents!

Earth-Berries-Ltd.-"Soap-Nuts"-Review

This is most definitely a product I would love to see available in retail stores, which I have been informed is currently in the works 🙂 I for one will definitely be a regular buyer when it hits store shelves, not only because they are Eco-friendly but also because Earth Berries Ltd. is a fair trade company based in Canada!
So if you have skin irritations or just want to do your part in reducing the damage we are doing to the planet, this is a product I highly recommend 🙂

Boo Bamboo Organic Products Review

Boo-Bamboo-Organic-Products-Review

For as long as I can remember our little guy has had dry patches of skin due to eczema, and for the longest time we were wasting our money buying “eczema creams”. We decided that enough was enough and started using all natural products that help a lot more than the creams we were buying. With the little ones skin condition it was very hard to find lotions and soaps that didn’t make him extremely itchy or break out in dry, flaky patches. Now that the hubby has Celiac Disease, we’re back to having a hard time finding hygiene products that are gluten-free!

Boo-Bamboo-Organic-Products-Review

Thankfully with a little research you can find many companies that have products available in stores as well as online through different merchants. One of these companies fits both our sons needs as well as the hubby’s needs, known as Boo Bamboo. They produce an amazing line of products that contain All Natural & Organic, Gluten Free ingredients, are Paraben & DEA Free, cruelty free, Sulphate Free and Vegan. I’m already excited and that’s just telling you about the things it doesn’t contain, lol!

Boo-Bamboo-Organic-Products-Review

Another amazing line is their Boo Skin Care products. These products include a mild facial cleanser and lotion, make-up wipes and an Anti-Wrinkle Line Lifting face cream. The face wash lathers very good as well and leaves your face feeling very clean. The lotion is great at leaving your face feeling moisturized and doesn’t have a greasy feel to it. Doesn’t it annoy you when you use a lotion that leaves you feeling like you just used cooking oil to moisturize?

Boo-Bamboo-Organic-Products-Review

The other set of products we were sent was the Boo Bamboo Hair line which includes a bottle of shampoo and conditioner, a hair strengthening seal & shine serum, a revitalizing conditioning treatment and a bottle of frizz control curl defining gel. I absolutely love these products, they leave my hair feeling soft and clean as well as leaving it brilliantly shiny and smelling great 🙂

Boo-Bamboo-Organic-Products-Review

All products are infused with Certified Organic Bamboo Extracts which is rich in minerals and organic proteins and is the richest known source of natural Silica. These extracts strengthen your hair follicles and retains moisture, helping to reduce frizz as well as strengthening and conditioning your hair leaving it with a sleek, gorgeous shine 🙂

ePuffer Review

 ePuffer

Have you ever made the resolution to kick cigarettes? Have you followed through? I’ve broken that resolution so many times I can’t even count them! The reason I’ve never succeeded is because I miss the action of holding a cigarette and inhaling it. I’ve tried many different ways to quit, like pills which unfortunately made me dizzy, and patches only seem to satisfy my with-drawls not my cravings/actions. I’ve seen e-cigs at the cash of every store I go to for my cigarettes and have always been curious about them but never had the drive, urge if you’d rather, to quit.

ePuffer-Review

After a bit of research on how these things work I came across a company who has won awards for innovation and has been given a positive review by “The Doctors” on their Top Health Trends Of 2009 episode. This amazing company is known as ePuffer, a Global company who designs, manufactures and distributes electronic cigarettes, cigars, pipes, e-liquid, cartridges and accessories.
My main concern was if these are safe, funny coming from someone who fills their lungs with toxins anyway right! After seeing the reviews and approval from many satisfied customers, health professionals and the ingredient list which is found in fruit and vegetables, I’m satisfied knowing that this is the healthiest thing from smoking 🙂

ePuffer-Review

There are 2 new products available from epuffer for 2014 which are disposable and Eco friendly. The Premium Eco Friendly Menthol Flavor and the Premiun Eco Friendly Tobacco Flavor (nicotine free).  I love the design of these, they both look like real cigarettes, have a very real looking ash/cherry and come with a convenient carrying case. I occasionally buy menthols and was particularly amazed at how much the Menthol ePuffer helps with my urges. Each ePuffer contains up to 500 puffs and gives the same sensation as inhaling a real smoke! Even though I’m smoking vapor I continue to vaporizer outside as I’m still mimicking smoking and I try not to let my son see me, after all monkey see monkey do!
ePuffers sell for the awesome price of $9.95 and are available at designated merchants and online at: http://www.epuffer.com/eshop/

The Hoots children songs

The hoots $6.99
Its great informative songs about animals and other different things. It is definitely a genre of music that children could sing and dance around to.
Its an 11 track album with catchy/inviting to sing.
The 3 hoots are:

  1. Joel Daniel
  2. Charles Caskey
  3. Nina Doherty

The-Hoots-children-songs

Good for daycare because it gets kids involved makes them interact with the song, clap your hands, stomp your feet, I often found myself humming these songs long after the cd was over.

I would recommend this product to anyone around kids or simply for your own listening pleasure.

Kidobi Review

Kidobi-Review

If you have kids, I’m willing to bet that you’ve had those moments when you want to pull out your hair because your child is “bored” and can’t seem to be entertained by anything! The laundry and dishes are piled up and you’ve become the king of the block castle. How on earth are you supposed to get the house clean? We’ve tried crafts but someone needs to be helping or supervising rather. With the crazy weather we’ve had it’s been way too cold to go outside, so that’s out of the question! But wait…..kid friendly videos might just be the thing? But where to find a site or app. that our little guy can’t stumble upon one of the many atrocious things lurking on the Internet?

Kidobi is an amazing company that has created a parent approved site and App. with child friendly media suited to each childs age group. There are seriously so many features available on Kidobi that we’re completely amazed with but the main ones are that we’re able to choose educational material for our son to watch and of course cartoons. Some of the videos we’re able to educate with include math, science, life & social skills, art and language. We also like that we’re able to see our sons progress as well as the fact that the kids achieve awards. Did you know that Kidobi has been awarded the prestigious PTPA seal of approval as well as being awarded a Kids Choice and Editors Choice award for 2013! That right there, tells us that this is no doubt the site we want our little guy to be amused by and that we thought would be of interest to other parents and you, our readers 🙂

Kidobi-Review

This wonderful site allows us the 30 minutes we need to wrestle the dust bunnies hiding around the house, lol! The fact that we’re able to access such great content for only $8 a month (Premium Account) as well as FREE, that’s suited to our child’s age and is educational makes this a site worth recommending.

HURRY IT’S ON SALE RIGHT NOW FOR %50 OFF – That’s $4 for this amazing app!

Thermal-Aid Headache Relief System Review

Thermal Aid
100% Natural Headache Relief System.

What is it?

Thermal-aid headache system is clinically proven to relieve tension & migraine headaches, which is something that I get often (well i call them “stress-headaches”), no fun at all. Each system contains Headache Cream, an eye pack (kind of like the one you use when your sleeping) and instructions on how to use it all. This is a natural alternative to taking medication and it really does work.

Thermal-Aid-Headache-Relief-System-Review

You should leave it in the freezer for at least 6 hours. I like to keep mine in there all the time, just in case I feel a headache coming on it will be ready to go. Simply put a little cream on each of your temples & forehead and you will feel it starting to work in under 10 minutes. I absolutely love the “All-Natural” aspect of it all. It’s made with Corn so just be careful of any allergies,! And best of all, it’s just like having that spa treatment in your own home, for A LOT cheaper hehe.

The Thermal-Aid headache relief system has really helped me out when I had a headache/migraine. It’s a miracle worker.

I would definitely suggest this product to everyone I know, simply because I know it does work! Please talk to your doctor about this product first, before just stopping any of your medication for headaches, etc.

Racinne Gentle Cleansing Foam

Racinne Gentle Cleansing foam

This is a great face wash. It smells so good, just lightly scented, it’s perfect. I use it twice a day, once I wake up in the morning and then again before hitting the sac. I find it lathers very well and you only need a small amount to cover your face and neck.

The name of this product says it all “A Gentle Cleansing Foam“, meaning I haven’t broke out on my face after using this face wash (unlike others claiming to be gentle). My skin feels awake and revitalised. Another great thing is it not only cleans my face but it removes my eye make-up as well!. I love how it doesn’t dry out my skin like so many other similar products

You’ll spend approx $20 for a tube of Racinne (depending on what you are getting) but let me tell you it’s well worth it. I personally think the packaging of this product is simple yet fancy at the same time. And did you know that Racinne contains all-natural items

Racinne Canada is definitely a great company and I will continue to recommend their products. Especially since they are Paraben free & not tested on animals 🙂

Skechers WOMEN’S SYNERGY FRICTION boot Review

I love getting out for a nice walk on a crisp, sunny winter day! I need a pair of boots that could handle these harsh Canadian winters, so I was pretty excited to try out a pair from Skechers. I chose the WOMEN’S SYNERGY – FRICTION boot. I love that it comes up to my shins and you can lace them up all the way so no snow or cold can get in.

Now other Canadians might know what I’m talking about when I say ” I used to be the type that would add a grocery bag to each of my feet to make sure they were kept insulated, warm and dry. Now with these boots from Skechers I no longer have to bag my feet, yay! These Synergy Friction boots are very easy to walk in, as we know that snow can sometimes suck to walk in. They are light weight, it barely feels like you have anything on your feet at all.

They have a big piece above the heel in the back of the boot, so you can easily slip your finger in to help you guide your foot into the boot. Very convenient. They also have good grips on the bottom, so you don’t slip. You can buy these boots in black or Taupe. What I love about it is that they also include an extra pair of laces to match the secondary color of your boot.
