My Homemade Baby Wipes

My son always has skin irritation that is caused from the perfumes in certain products. Such as laundry soap, body wash, creams, and wipes..One day we ran out of wipes, and I had no way to get to the grocery store, so I decided to make my own. This is what I did, and have been doing ever since. I honestly wish I would of come up with this when he was just a tiny baby. Saves us a BUNCH of money, as you can get the paper towels on sale at least once a month at Shoppers for $1.99 for 8 rolls…Which if you broke it down, 1 roll of PT would make a box of wipes, for a lot cheaper..Make as many as you like…Its simple and quick!!!

Here’s the simple instructions..

  • Take a roll of paper towel and break off each little square of it
  • Then just fold the paper towels in halfs..
  • Put all the pieces of Paper Towel you just folded and add it to one of the containers of wipes you may have hanging around, if not just get an air tight container
  • Add some water and any scent you would like (optional) to the container in layers…I didn’t measure how much water I put in, but the paper towel absorbs the water eventually…..

And there you have it. Wipes with absolutely NO chemicals or harsh perfumes etc….#GoGreen ๐Ÿ™‚
It will save you SO much money, and keep those baby bum’s rash free ๐Ÿ™‚

What do you think about this? Would you try it? I would LOVE to hear some feedback!!!
Please comment below and feel free to share with all your friends and family..As it could save them alot of money in the long run ๐Ÿ˜€ or you can Tweet your answer to @FrugalCouponMum

Where where you back in 96??? Wow Being a mom to 10 My youngest son still in diapers, this will be something I will try and pass on to others, Wow just to think how much money I could have saved. But now I can pass this down to my children in the future for their children =) Thank you so much for this =)

  5. Such a amazing idea! Wish I would have known about this when my guy was little!

  6. This is a great idea! I guess you need a sturdy paper towel to hold up to the liquid.

  7. Dont you just get soggy paper towels? I would think lotion or soap like soft soap would work better as it is thicker.

    • Not at all! We only put a small amount of water that will moisten the paper towels. If you place a few drops of water onto a paper towel and place it in a sealed container it causes condensation in turn creating moisture and dampening the paper. The soft soap sounds like a good idea but at the same time would need to be rinsed off and we did this to avoid the chemicals and scents as our son has highly sensitive skin. ~J~

  8. What a great idea!

  9. This is a great idea and I wish I had known about it when my kids were babies. They must feel wonderful too against the skin.I will be trying this any ways with just a few paper towels at a time because I like to wipe my cat’s butt down once in awhile just to keep her lovely and clean.LOLSometimes she needs a little help and of course I will be wearing plastic gloves too.

  10. what a fabulous idea! Will sharewith my step daughter, she has2 she could use this for!

  11. I think I will try this , our daughter is 5 now but there is still a whole lot of uses for wipes like hands and face , she too has super sensitive skin so i think this will do the trick

  12. Nice to have these in the car as i don’t have small kids any more!
